About the Photographer...
For me photography is a joy and a delight, we choose to photograph important moments and special people. I love what I do; I love taking pictures and I love editing pictures. Photography prices were once set by those people who endangered themselves by being around chemicals and having a darkroom in their studio. My equipment is all digital, so when I am done editing your pictures the digital negatives are yours to keep.

I will show up to your event 30-60 minutes before the contracted time; to scout out the location, check the lighting etc... In the event that the location is more than 30 minutes from Louisville I will generally plan a full hour of extra travel time to make allowances for multiple traffic problems. This usually results in my arriving 2 hours before the contracted time; but, I prefer to err on the side of being early rather than late. Depending on the size of the event, an assistant may accompany me to act as my trusty porter and 2nd shooter. Frequently while everyone has their eyes are on me, my assistant will end up with the best candid shots.
After your event I will begin the process of culling; I delete anything that is out of focus, brighten up dark  photos, crop some, examine multiples and keep the best ones, etc... This process usually takes 3-4 hours. Then begins the fun part of editing, Artistic Enhancement! At this point I will determine what would look good in black & white, what would look good with a "glowing" feel to it, what might benefit from a soft focus. I always save the original and sometimes there will be 4 versions of a shot so that you can pick the one that suits your taste.
My style tends to be contemporary, I prefer a slightly darker tone with a photojournalist feel to it. I LOVE black & white, some people don't. If you are a person that prefers color let me know so that I can enhance your pictures in a style that fits you.

I generally include an 8x10 collage with your pictures just because I love making these. At $5 a piece for developing they make a great gift for Grandma. After I'm done I'll upload all acceptable images to either Walgreen's for Shutterfly once you decide that you are happy with everything I'll burn full resolution copies to CD so that you will have them to develop whenever and wherever you like.

The pictures that I take are your pictures. It was my time, talent, and equipment that took the pictures but once I have been paid a fair rate for my time, the rights to the pictures should be yours. To develop as you wish, where you wish. Why pay a studio $25 for an 8X10 when you can get them somewhere else for $5. You should not have to choose 5 copies of your 1 favorite pose because the photographer wants $5 a piece for a 4X6 when you can pick up twenty-four 4x6 prints at Walgreen's for .that same $5.

It is your day to celebrate and remember, some people are blessed with fabulous memories, for the rest of us, photos give allow us to remember the times and people that are special.

Irish Blessing

May the light always find you on a dreary day.
When you need to be home, may you find your way.
May you always have courage to take a chance
And never find frogs in your underpants.
